    History: Bread was first baked in the Neolithic Era (New Stone Age) at least 8,000 years ago.

    Leavened bread from ancient Egypt around 4000 B.C.E. Herodotus called the Egyptians “the bread eaters”. Onions, bread, and beer were the basics of Egyptian the diet.
